The usual struggles for basic needs such as food security, drought resulting in agricultural failure, access to shelter in urban communities and access to resources are some of the most pressing challenges facing Africa today. Despite these challenges, Africa has become influential in the context of climate change, global politics and epidemics (Ebola).
