Former U. S. Senator and presidential candidate Bill Bradley, currently Managing Director of Allen & Company LLC, will be the inaugural speaker for the new Tanner Lecture Series. The Tanner Lectures will create a public forum for the discussion of ethical citizenship, the exercise of democratic rights, and the responsibilities of public and professional life. Speakers for this series will be leaders in their fields who are actively confronting pressing local, national, and international challenges. The lectures will stimulate audiences to re-envision their own responsibilities in different ways—their aim is to inform, engage, provoke, and leave a lasting impression. Senator Bradley currently hosts American Voices, a weekly show on Sirius Satellite Radio which highlights the remarkable accomplishments of Americans both famous and unknown. Senator Bradley is also the author of The New American Story and the soon-to-be published We Can All Do Better. He is a leading voice for civic engagement and public responsibility—someone who combines, as the New York Times noted, a “mix of idealism and common sense.”
